British Open winner Louis Oosthuizen has confirmed in a press conference on Monday ,that he will adjust his playing schedule and compete at next month’s World Golf Championships-Bridgestone Invitational.
Oosthuizen was not included in the line up before he took part on last weekend’s Open at St Andrews, but due to his seven shot victory he now has an invite to play in the Tournament. He will play there, before going on to the following weeks PGA Championship.
The South African who has now gone from 54th in the world rankings to 15th will again play alongside the world’s top golfers, such as Tiger Woods, Phil Mikelson and Lee Westwood.
Oosthuizen has never played at Bridgestone before, but has competed in five other World Golf Championship Events. His best finish had been tied 20th at the 2009 CA Championship.
Bridgestone is the third of four World Golf Championships played in the year. The Accenture Match Play Championship was played in February and won by Ian Poulter, the CA Championship in March and won by Ernie Els and the HSBC Championship which takes place in November this year.
