Nike Golf have made two big signings ahead of the 2013 season with the
announcement that the sports giant have taken on Kyle Stanley and Nick
Watney who had been with Titleist.
Both players were formally welcomed into the Nike family on Tuesday.
Quoting
the announcement, "The players have entered a multiyear agreement with
the Swoosh and will represent Nike Golf in clubs, ball, footwear, glove,
apparel, headwear and accessories."
"Nike is the most powerful
sports company in the world," Stanley was quoted as saying. "They want
to have the best athletes on board and it's an honor to be a part of
that and represent them."
The big name is still to come for Nike,
with the multi-million dollar signing of Rory McIlroy expected to be
announced in Abu Dhabi in a couple of weeks.
Other players
swapping equipment sponsors include Stewart Cink, who has switched over
to TaylorMade alongside former U.S. Open Champion Lucas Glover, Ryan
Moore and John Huh.
As well as Watney and Stanley, Titleist lost two further pros in Chris Kirk and Gary Woodland who move over to Callaway. |
