Golfer Tiger Woods and his wife Elin Nordegren have finally divorced after six years of marriage.
Lawyers for the couple have not disclosed the details of the financial arrangements, but it is believed that Nordegren is set to receive $100million as well as retaining custody of the children
The couple issued a joint statement through their lawyers, which read: "We are sad that our marriage is over and we wish each other the very best for the future.
"While we are no longer married, we are the parents of two wonderful children and their happiness has been, and will always be, of paramount importance to both of us.”
The world’s number one golfer has suffered a poor season since returning back to the game after the allegations about his infidelity emerged.
Although he still remains the world number one ranked golfer, his position is constantly under threat. His lead over Phil Mickelson has now diminished to a mere one-hundredth of a ranking point, as the first of the FedEx Cup play-off series starts this week in New Jersey.
He failed to earn a place on the Ryder Cup team and is reliant on one of the Captain Corey Pavins four wild card picks, which is by no means guaranteed.
