Lefty will have a 'special' club for Masters
When it comes to The Masters, every player will be bringing their A-game to Augusta National. But Phil Mickelson has an extra trick up his sleeve, or rather, in his golf bag.

"We have a special club we're making that I'll be hitting on Monday," he said. "So, we'll see."

Whether it's his new 3-wood "that's more like a driver", which had its first outing at last weekend's Houston Open and ostensibly produces a lower ball flight and more run in the fairway, or whether it's another new stick is still up for speculation.

But what is undoubted, is that with three green jackets already in his wardrobe, the four-time major winner is always going to be a threat when the calendar hits Masters weekend.

"I have a chance now when I show up," he said. "I'm not searching, I'm not trying to find it. I know what it is I'm trying to do and the feelings I'm trying to create to hit certain shots. I have a chance to shoot a low round."

Despite opening his final round at Houston with four straight birdies, Mickelson struggled ont he fourteenth hole with a double bogey leading to  a 68 to finish, six strokes behind compatriot D.A. Points.

Even though World No1 Tigers Woods is the overwhelming favourite to take his 15th Major championship, it would be foolish to dismiss Mickelson's chances at a course where he has been champion as recently as 2010.
