Woods and McIlroy have their own private game

While Matt Kuchar was sealing victor in the WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship, two of the players that according to official rankings should have been in the final were having their own head-to-head on Sunday.
World No1 Rory McIlroy and the man directly below him in the number two spot, Tiger Woods, were knocked out early from the Match Play even so decided to have their own private contest at the Medalist Club in Florida.
The Ulsterman and American are now neighbours, with McIlroy having moved to Florida, and more recently stable-mates after he signed a lucrative deal with Nike Golf in January.
''We thought we'd play our own Match Play final,'' McIlroy revealed to press on Tuesday.
"We had two matches. He beat me the first time and I beat him in the second so we're even. We teed off at about 8:00 and I was home by 1:30 so we played quick," he added.
''He putts with the pin in,'' McIlroy said. ''It's speed golf. It was good. It was really enjoyable.''
The duo now contest the Honda Classic and will be hoping for markedly better performances than their time at Dove Mountain.
