Woods makes a poor start at Quail

Tiger Woods has made a poor start in the Quail Hollow Golf Championship, in North Carolina

The world’s number one golfer carded a 2 over par in his second tournament after his self imposed exile from the game of golf, making him joint 88th on  the leader board with 20 other golfers.

His round of golf included four bogeys and a double-bogey.

He is nine shots behind the leader Bo Van Pelt who finished on 65, 7 under par.

Woods who started on the back nine was greeted with a rousing welcome by the crowd and non of the jeering and jibes the organisers were so concerned about

Interviewed after the game the obviously disappointed and frustrated golfer said
"It was a terrible day. I just didn't have it today,"

"I was dropping balls out of hazards and finding balls in trees. I was struggling so bad, I didn't know which way I was going to go, whether I was going left or right.

"I hit a bunch of balls left, I hit a bunch of balls right, hit a few down the middle, and that was about it."

"I'm not going to the range today. To hell with it," he added.
